Bishey (/bishey / [Translation Unavailable]) is a subtropical Town located in Linash Dutchy, Tifia County, within the Kingdom of Helsteria.

The name Bishey is derived from the Sylvin language, as Bishey was founded by Shêlë Saunders, who was culturaly Sylvin.

Climate

Bishey has a yearly average temperature of 20°C (68°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 27°C (80°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 13°C (55°F). Bishey receives an average of 168 cm/y (66 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the fall. Bishey covers an area of nearly 5 km² (2 mi²), and an average elevation of 4932 m (16181 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Bishey was founded durring the late 17th century in early winter of the year 1578, by Shêlë Saunders. The establishment of Bishey was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Bishey 's construction back out of the project. Shêlë Saunders pushed on reguardles, and Bishey was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Bishey was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the late 17th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Bishey is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature plaster covered brick construction taking the shape of large simple gemometric shapes which ate then embelished with decorative features, but retain their simple shapes in spite of the added features such as pillars, faccaddes, and covered walkways. The blocky nature gives a general impression of extreem age, as if each structure has existed since time immemorial.

Bishey is buildings are built arround a single spacious cobblestone mainstreet which forms a counterclockwise spiral to give the town a over all circular shape. The town sits behind an impressive looking clay brick wall. The wall is notable for querried stone blocks being used to renforce the clay bricks in the expected manner and locations. While the wall was built to the exact specifications of modern fortifications, one has to wonder why the money invested into creating such a well fortified wall wasnt spent on a less impressive looking wall crated from sturdier materials. Bishey 's walls would endure a brief bombardment, but only from light siege weapons. It seems more likly the town's walls were not designed with defence in mind but rather lending the town a certain air with visitors. The boondoggle-of-a-fortified wall has suffered a visible ammount of structural damage, leaving them effectivly useless. One can't help but wonder why the has not yet effected repairs.

Before you’ve even set foot into the heart of Bishey , you can smell it. The incense. It hangs about the town like a cloud. Monks, priests, and clerics are everywhere, all dedicated to the same god, all preforming the same rituals to bless and anoint building,s streets, people, animals, you name it they are or have blessed it. The same holysymbols is everywhere too. Its on buildings, on people, and even branded into livestock. This town certainly loves its god.

Civic Infrastructure

Bishey has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Bishey .

Bishey has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Bishey has a Department of Firefighters, which is responsible for organizing fire fighting efforts during a fire and enforcing local ordinances relating to fire safety.

Bishey has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Bishey has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Bishey 's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Bishey has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Bishey has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Bishey is home to a University which provides higher education in a variety of fields, and also serves as a research institute for those same fields.

Cultural Notes

There’s a relatively new religion in Bishey which is rapidly gaining power. It might be a sectarian offshoot of a major faith, the unique product of a new prophet, or an outside faith backed by wealthy and powerful foreign supporters. Depending on the demands made on believers, the new faith may be a matter of concern only to the existing clergy, or it might be a major flashpoint for conflict in the community.

Bishey 's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is famous for its stately symmetry, classical elements, and grand appearance. Columns and pillars, such as Corinthian columns, are often seen supporting open structures or porticos. Symmetry is an important feature of this style, with each half of a building mirroring the other. Domed ceilings and windows grace these buildings, with everything placed in a mathematical arrangement.

In Bishey there is a constant smell of overcooked presumably ethnic food.

The Blink Dog near Bishey are known to be more aggressive than normal.

Bishey 's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves reenactments to channel Truename Magic energies of tier 3 via singing.
